Thoughts on Altitude and Eben Pagan from Someone who was There

Eben and I at Altitude on the final day.
If you are contemplating getting Eben Pagans Altitude DVD's and Mentoring program, you're running out of time.
Your deadline: Midnight Pacific time Friday November 16th, 2007
Learn about the DVD and Mentoring program here.
Well, it looks like every big name marketer is pushing and promoting the Altitude Workshop DVD's. They want you to spend $1,485 on the DVD program and 10 weeks of mentoring. Me too, that's what I'm saying. Funny part is that very few of the big guys promoting right now were actually there. Some were so I'll et them slide. Sure, the ones who couldn't attend are promoting based on Ebens track record of being one of the smartest guys around and delivering the best content for growing personally and exploding your business revenue. But again, many big name marketers weren't there, so how can they really recommend the program. How do I know they weren't there? Because I WAS.
Yep. All 5 days. 10 hour workshop days, plus when you add in breakfast, dinners and after hours networking, these were 16-18 hour days fully engaged. 70 pages of notes, 25 contacts and business cards of other members. A few phone calls and even one get together with an Altitude attendee from Dallas who happened to be in Philadelphia this week.
What was it worth to me? What were my biggest takeaways? Well, here are a few:
Eben modeled the course about 5 major principles:
- You
- Your Market
- Your Marketing
- Your People
- Your systems
Often times, we are our own worst enemy. We aren't productive enough, we get wrapped up with the little stuff. We don't delegate well, we try to do too much, our mind flitters from one opportunity to the next without actually focusing on any one thing long enough to get anything done completely. I'm speaking for myself here, but I imagine a few of you are nodding your heads saying - yep, that's me.
So what I decided to do FIRST is to focus on the biggest thing that is constraining my business the most. ME!
Working on yourself is as important if not more so than working on your business. Between Ebens thoughts and those of Tony Schwartz, I've begun integrating some new routines into my life. First and foremost is health and fitness. Why? Because without health, the rest way more difficult than it needs to be. about 15-20 lbs heavier than I should be and cholesterol MUCH higher than it should be. So, instead of putting it off like usual, I'm just finishing up my 4th straight week of 6- days a week workouts. Three days cardio, three days weight training. Haven't skipped a workout for the entire time. And this coming right after about 4 YEARS of not working out at all.
Life changing - absolutely. It really feels amazing to just decide to do something and know I can get it done. 4 weeks in - it's now a habit. I get up, get into my workout clothes and get to it. Has it made me a million bucks? Nope. But it's a start. And it's a great start.
Here's the lesson: You can only implement ONE new habit at a time.
So many of us come back from these workshops all fired up with 500 ideas. What do we do, we try to do everything at once. Pretty soon we burn out and get discouraged because we fail to live up to our own high expectations and before you know it, we're back to our old patterns of doing the unimportant before the good stuff. The stuff that puts money on the table.
Do I have more work to do? Absolutely. Do I have 499 other idea's that I need to implement? Totally. My next one is to work on unplugging myself from the interruptions and creating environments where I can work uninterrupted on the BIG and IMPORTANT stuff. The stuff that brings in the dollars. Seriously, why do I really need to check email or stats or voice mail 15 - 20 times a day? It's crazy.
So that's my next big habit that I will ingrain into my daily routine. Unplugging and Focused attention on what really matters. THIS is where the dollars will come.
Don't get me wrong, I already implemented many of the idea's I learned. I ran my first teleseminar this week. I'm using Joe Polishes idea for gathering video testimonials from customers even though they are half way across the country. Don't have them back yet, but I will. I setup a new product line on my main money site. Jury is still out on the results, but I am making some great progress on things that have been on my to do list for months. In some cases - years.
Only 5 weeks after Altitude occured, I'm still being educated by attending the weekly group telephone mentoring calls. I have made some major life changes in my daily routines. I've implemented more marketing ideas in the past 5 weeks than in the previous 5 months and I have a sense of calm and confidence about my work that wasn't there before.
For me - this stuff is priceless. Yeah, it would be great to send an email and make $66,000 from one idea like one of the testimonials you will find on the Altitude sales page. I didn't do quite as well. But I did take some action that resulted in approximately $23,000 NET to my pocket. Wouldn't have done it without Eben and Altitude. It all boils down to action. We all have great ideas. The difference between the sucessful and those stuck with less than they could have is action. So, are you going to act and get your hands on some of the best personal and business growth education available today? Or are you going to keep chasing your tail? Do I recommend the program? With all my heart. It's life changing. But you need to take the first step.
Head on over to Altitude before Midnight Pacific time Friday November 16th, 2007 to grab your copy of the Altitude DVD's and mentoring program.
And if all you want is to watch the free marketing tips, I have a bunch on my Altitude summary page at http://Get-Altitude.com. Here you can grab not only a bunch of great videos, but also the ebook publishing software and the cool quiz maker software that's gotten Eben opt in rates of over 80%.
Is there a rush? Yep, the Altitude DVD's and Mentoring program is only available for another day. That's it. All the marketing video's on the sales page will be taken down within a day. And the free software? Likely being pulled down too.
Hope this helps.
