All you need to do is create the publishnow.html with the only text in the file being the signin email.  Once you have loaded that page on the root of your webserver, click the validate button and the Direct Publishing should be set up.  It does not require the mailto: tag.

For those of you who don't know about FreeIQ's Direct Publishing, it's quite revolutionary.

Most affiliate programs require you to send traffic to a site using a specific url with your affiliate link embedded in it.  (i.e.  site.com?aff=ID)  FreeIQ has actually built into their program the ability to essentially capture anyone coming from your website or domain as a referral.  So, instead of using affiliate links, you can just send people from your "validated" website to any page of FreeIQ and those referrals will be tracked as if you sent them directly to your affiliate link.  You can validate as many websites as you have that you plan to drive traffic to FreeIQ with.  The benefits are obvious.  The most obvious, the user doesn't know that they are being sent to an affiliate link because you could just send them right to http://freeiq.com.
