45% Opt-in Rate for a Squeeze Page?
What would it do for YOUR Business….
… if YOU could get a 45% Opt-in Rate?
While this isn't a paint by numbers system on getting a 45% opt in rate, there are a few things you can learn from Frank Kerns latest video squeeze page.
Step 1: Watch the video here:
(It will open in a new window) - Notice there is no opt in required for this first video, but I bet by the time you watch his movie - you'll want more from Frank.
Step 2: Come back for my comments…
And now for my comments:
This is what I believe makes Frank the best in the business for creating raving fans who love him and can't wait to give him their money…
Overall Design:
No confusion of what to do. All there is is the video, a huge arrow that says - for more of me, enter your email. No distracting graphics, header images, extraneous copy. Nothing to confuse you from what he wants - which is "watch the video and give me your email address."
Notice: Frank isn't asking for your first name. Frank tests and tracks everything. So if he's not asking for your name - it probably means that he gets more email addresses by NOT asking for it. Generally - the more information you ask for, the fewer people comply. Just try an opt in form asking for a full address and phone number. Watch your opt-ins plummet.
Compelling Video:
This means - great capture and editing. Great soundtrack. - Frank figured out that Video was the way to go and he found a great video guy to record and edit these videos for Frank. And while Frank is the genius behind the message - his video guy brings it to life. Clearly - Franks video guy is one of the more valuable people on his team.
If you can afford it - get a good video guy. If you're a techie - do it yourself. But good video is becoming more and more important.
Frank Takes you on a Journey:
You get to experience a day in the life of Frank. A walk on the beach in flip flops first. Then he takes you to his "secret headquarters" where he shows you his ever expanding collection of surfboards. Now, let's sit in his yard and have a chat. By bringing you from one location to another - there is a psychological effect that says - "you're my friend - come with me to where I work and play." You immediately feel like you're in the "in crowd" by being invited into his inner sanctum. (secret headquarters)
Overall feel:
The video is entertaining, funny and educational at the same time. This masterful combination is now being called Edutainment. It's a worthy goal to strive for. But just don't be goofy for the sake of being goofy. And just be who you are. People will see through it if you put on a character for the camera.
Over the top? Or just right?:
While the first few minutes of the video could be omitted and it could start right in with him sitting on his lawn - be intro does so much to set up the story and the message he wants to deliver. Personally, I think the intro is as important as the content itself in creating the relationship with his audience and connect to the emotions of his audience.
The content:
Frank walks the talk.
He tells you to stop focusing on your product or the thing you are selling. He also points out the need to sell the result. But most importantly, he tells you you MUST connect with the emotion your prospect will feel once they have achieved that result.
What is Frank Selling?
Clearly some type of education (product) that will teach you how to get lots of money. (the result) So, how does he get to your emotion that you will feel when you achieve that result? By showing you his lifestyle.
People connect beaches with vacations and a luxury life of leisure. He tells you right after he shoots this quick video, he's going to go surfing. (goofing off). He mentions he owns a few properties. (wealth) He shows off his surfboard collection. All of this connects to the (emotion) of what it would FEEL like to achieve the result of lots of money.
Without him even mentioning it specifically - we all wonder…
What's the product or thing he's selling that will allow ME to feel like a beach bum who works when he feels like working? The net effect is that we can't wait to see the next video to see what Frank is going to offer for sale so WE can lead the life he has. And more importantly FEEL the way HE feels.
So, Frank not only is teaching you how to connect to those emotions. If you pay attention, he's using the very same system to connect with you.
So, my recommendation?
Pay close attention to Frank. Dissect what he does and why he's doing it. Listen to what he's teaching. Then, try to figure out how he's using the very techniques he's teaching to extract large sums of money from you - without ever having to "sell you" with hard pressure tactics.
It's all brilliant.
Now that you've read my thoughts, Watch the video again and see if you notice what I'm talking about and how he's doing to you what he's actually teaching.
Step 3: Tell me your observations by leaving a comment. And if you have a question, leave a comment and I'll get back to you personally.
Until later…

Great analysis of Frank's video - thanks! I loved how at the end he said something like, "I'm sure there must be a box somewhere around here (and he's pointing to the left and right) where you can enter your email - so just do that and I'll see you on the other side!" It was so casual and "normal" - not like some salesman ordering you to sign on the dotted line, which is how it sometimes can feel on opt-in pages. Also, good point that Frank's vids are "edutainment" - which these days is so much more effective than just a straight business presentation. You really feel like he's your friend and has invited you into his inner circle! Yet you also totally get that he's making a ton of money - and that if you buy his stuff you can make a ton of money too. In my book, Frank Kern ROCKS.
Great job of dissecting the message behind Frank Kern's brilliant video.
I'll throw these in that I saw/heard. When Frank is talking about pushy salespeople who jam their stuff down your throat - he's subliminally implying that he is NOT one of those salespeople.
He also says" You don't want to have to convince people to buy your stuff - it's too much work" Subliminal - He knows many people don't want to work hard.
"I can promise you this, you can't get this info anywhere else, because no one else is goofy enough to sit and figure this out" - Message - We'd better skedaddle quick to his next video and not even bother to look elsewhere for this info.
